WSDOT NW Regional Headquarters

The approximately 170,000 SF Northwest Regional Headquarters for the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) was in great need of modernization to align with the Governor’s Building a Modern Work Environment Executive Order (16-07). Additionally, this underutilized building will be brought to full capacity through the uniting of the Department of Ecology’s Northwest Regional Headquarters with WSDOT at this Shoreline location.

The project involved an occupied remodel of all 170,000 SF of office space, the addition of a 7,000 SF storage building to serve Ecology’s Spill Response team, and extensive site and right-of-way modifications and updates to meet modern code requirements.

I was involved in authoring the technical proposal that won the project for the Abbott-AMA design/build team and serving as Project Architect.
